J. Vinton Schafer & Sons, Inc. has completed professional construction
management services for six (6) schools throughout Maryland that
opened on-time for the start of the fall school year. Over 4,800
students started the school year in the comfort of their new and/or
renovated schools thanks to the dedicated and professional staff
of Schafer and the individual county school systems.
It is important that our students begin the year with focus on
education and not the completion of our projects. Through rain storms,
razed buildings, and all other sundries that come with complex construction
projects, Schafer managed and made decisions based on our belief
that "this is a school first and a construction project second."
In Howard County we completed construction of the new 75,497 square
foot Bellow Springs Elementary School with a state highway approved
bridge, 66,500 square feet of additions and renovations to the 183,844
square feet Glenelg High School and the 34,000 square feet of additions
and renovations to the Atholton High School. In Anne Arundel County
we completed 76,967 square feet of additions and renovations to
Southern Middle School. We have completed the 42,300 square feet
of additions and renovations of The Church of the Resurrection for
the Archdiocese of Baltimore, and for Wicomico County we completed
construction of the new 44,825 square foot Willards Elementary School.
