Dan Hagan - Bringing over 26 years of experience in the construcion industry to Schafer, Dan joins Schafer as a Project Manager. Mark Snyder - With over 27 years of construction field experience, Mark joins Schafer as a Superintendent. Matt Twele - Previously a summer intern in 2005, joins Schafer as a full-time Assistant Project Manager. David Hopkins - With design and construction experience, Dave joins Schafer as an Assistant Project Manager. Michael Foret - Joins Schafer as an Assistant Project Manager.
Project Announcements:
We are very proud to work with our newest client – University of Maryland College Park . Working with their in-house team, Schafer is providing preconstruction services for the project and will provide construction services to renovate the existing 146,000 square foot occupied Tawes Fine Arts Building. Currently housing the performing arts program, this building once modified and renovated, will house a modern academic facility to the Department of English. A project challenge will be sustaining service to the functional and occupied UMTV station and Easton Broadcast Center , which is located in the building, throughout construction.
Another portion of this project is the creation of the Satellite Central Utility Building (SCUB). The SCUB is a crucial part of the project, in that; it will provide services to the neighboring buildings, including the proposed new Philip Merrill College of Journalism, which is currently in design.
Other projects recently awarded to provide Construction Management Services include:
MPRC/NIDA Tawes Building Renovations at Spring Grove Hospital Center, University of MD , Baltimore – An existing 69,306 gsf building, will undergo renovations to the 7,600 square foot second floor, north wing for the NIDA program to maximize the use of existing spaces and to minimize demolition.
New Visitors Center Renovations, Tourism Council of Frederick County , MD – Restored the 19 th century old building, which will serve as the New Visitor Center for Frederick County and administrative offices for the Tourism Council.
Prince Street Elementary Schools , Wicomico County Public Schools , MD - To provide construction management services to a 36,450 square foot new addition and a 34,429 square foot renovation to the existing elementary school.
Bushy Park Elementary School , Howard County Public Schools , MD - Full CM services for the construction of a new 117,000 s.f. 2-story school. The school will sit on a 19-acre site with Sequence Batch Reactor Sewer Treatment Plant serving 3 schools.
Tracy 's Elementary School, Anne Arundel County Public Schools , MD - Construction management services for the modernization of the existing school and a new 60,000 square foot addition.
New Market Elementary School , Frederick County Public Schools , MD - This project consists of providing CM services to a 23,300 square foot addition and a 27,000 square foot renovation to the existing school.
