Febuary 2007, ABC held its annual Gala at the American Visionary Art Museum. At this event, Mr. Ron Knowles of J. Vinton Schafer & Sons, Inc. received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
A long-time member of ABC and a second generation ABC leader, Ron was behind ABC's many initiatives with the American Institute of Architects. Ron lead the team of architects and contractors in developing The Guide to Value Engineering, an invaluable tool for owners, contractors and architects alike to help them better manage projects. The tool was officially adopted by the National offices of both AIA and ABC. This past year, Ron again took the lead in developing an educational program for owners on this topic.
