After several years of planning for the multi-phased renovations to Archbishop Curley High School, Fr. Michael Martin expresses his gratitude for all the efforts of his predecessors, “for their persistence and foresight made all of this possible today.” He is pleased to be able to offer each faculty, staff, and student over 29,250 square feet of renovations to their 1960's school. Renovations include a state-of-the-art Fitness Center, spacious office suites, modern upgrades to the Friary quarters, and common areas such as meeting rooms and conference/lecture rooms.
Harford Community College, is in phase II of the Joppa Hall, 15,000 square foot addition and 63,727 square foot renovation of the academic building, including performing arts recital halls and practice areas, classrooms, offices, music room, art and photo labs, and specialty craft studios. The project contains critical mission tasks necessary to coordinate renovations and relocation of the campus television and radio stations. The project is registered with US Green Building Council for their LEED Certification program and has been designed and built to achieve a Silver rating. Major LEED features include three “green roofs,” use of Low VOC materials, lyptus wood, recycled HDPE plastics, and recycled ceramic tiles, project also includes day lighting provisions. Phase I of this project was completed in September 2004 in time to resume Fall classes. Phase II will be completed for the 2005 semester.
