The Chartwell Clubhouse project was a phased addition and
renovation to the main clubhouse. It consisted of a 2-story
addition to the existing building and renovations of the clubhouse,
including modifications to existing site paving and plantings.
Phase I of the project included the demolition of approximately
5,000 square feet of an existing one-story structure and the construction
of a new 7,650 square feet one-story slab-on-grade addition to house
the new multi-purpose room, toilet facilities, storage and
kitchen support spaces.
Phase II consisted of the renovation of the second floor
spaces of the main clubhouse and the new exterior entrance
and foyer modifications on the first floor. On the second
floor, the work included an elevator, two meeting rooms, administration
space, staff locker space and improved toilet facilities for
staff.
Construction began and continued while the clubhouse remained
occupied. The total project comprised 22,246 square feet.
Schafer provided both pre-construction and construction phase
services. The construction was completed in 15 months.
