In just 11 weeks, Schafer completed this beautiful renovation of the 10,500 square foot sanctuary.
Renovations of a space with arched ceilings soaring to heights above 50 feet.
Work included complete repainting, new lighting, new sound system, replacement of HVAC units, reconfiguration of the existing narthex and bathrooms, modifications to the side alters and sanctuary and installation of the new reredos. The construction schedule started on June 20, 2005 immediately following the June 19th services and re-opened for mass the Saturday following Labor Day.
To return the interior body of the church to its original beauty and magnificence, the cleaning and painting took place in waves of tradesman following up, one behind the other, with cleaning and layered applications of finishes. The 1960's “battleship gray” paint was replaced by a pallet of 22 different colors. |
