The GBMC Obstetrics/Acute Care Expansion project consisted of a 215,000 square foot, six story addition plus the replacement of the existing hospital's primary HVAC equipment. The addition of the OB/Acute Care wing provides mothers with a comfortable place to labor, deliver, and recover in one of 17 advanced labor/ delivery/ recovery rooms. The facility contains eight new operating rooms, as well as nearly 100 beds in the expanded surgical, medical and coronary intensive care units and the facility also houses the radiology department. This state-of-the-art facility will offer the most complete obstetrical and surgical servies in the region.
