| Overview: |
The Gilchrist House is a 24 bed, 32,000 square feet facility which
is the first in Maryland to be designed and built exclusively
for inpatient hospice care. The facility has the look of a
country manor, with a high pitched slate roof, walls of Patapsco
River stone, large exterior windows, and French doors which
lead to either a balcony or patio at every patient room. The
typical array of interior finishes throughout is supplemented
by wood flooring, wood trim and custom casework in the patient
rooms which was designed to conceal most medical equipment.
