The project consisted of a new 7 story, 352,000 square foot acute care hospital, approximately 28,000 square feet of associated renovations within adjacent facilities and a new 700 car parking garage. The new facility provides 182 private patient rooms, 12 surgical suites, 43 private examination rooms in the emergency department and is equipped with the latest diagnostic medical equipment and information systems technology. Renovations included a new full service kitchen, dining room, servery and medical records department. The final scope of the acute care tower was increased to include a fit out of an entire floor (previously to be shelled), an addition to the new tower added over 35% to the original baseline budget and 8 months in construction time. The result is a beautiful hospital that provides the community with a warm and welcoming environment.
