| Overview: |
When USF&G found themselves only 10 months from needing
an 850 space parking facility, and with the design at only
50% Design Development Documents, they hired Schafer as the
project Construction Manager. In addition to constructibility
reviews, value engineering, scheduling and cost control, Schafer
recommended a fast track approach utilizing architectural
precast concrete and an invited, select group of contractors.
Despite poor soil conditions, restricted work hours, a blizzard,
and the wettest year in history, the project reached its
milestone of occupancy while remaining below the project construction
budget.
