Professional construction management at-risk services for the new John S. and James L. Knight Hall: Philip Merrill College of Journalism. The 53,444 square foot project included classrooms, computer labs, a teaching theater/audio broadcast studio with TV production capability, as well as, offices for faculty, staff, graduate students and a professional outreach center. The project also included related site improvements and has received LEED Gold certification.
Midway through construction a decision was made to reconfigure the third floor to accommodate Studio “C”, a flexible, multimedia lab that combines audio, broadcast, and web applications in one space.
Toward the end of the project a decision was made to incorporate adjacent property, which formerly contained portable classrooms, into a cohesive green space, the East Lawn. |
